Gregory Stock, PhD
Chief Executive Officer

He has led previous entrepreneurial efforts and is the architect of Signum’s business strategy. Prior to Signum, Dr. Stock directed the Program on Medicine, Technology and Society at UCLA’s School of Medicine. He has broad scientific, media and business experience and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar and won the Freund-Porter Entrepreneurship award. He has a PhD in biophysics from Johns Hopkins. He has made more than 1000 radio and television appearances, including Talk of the Nation, Charlie Rose, Oprah Winfrey and Larry King, given more than 100 invited lectures to organizations including Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, Microsoft, Nissan, Ernst & Young, Lloyds and the EPA, published 60 articles and written 8 books, including Redesigning Humans, which won the Kistler Prize for science, and The Book of Questions, which sold 2.5 million copies and was translated into 17 languages. A leading authority on the broad impacts of advanced technologies in the life sciences, he was invited to submit an advisory memo to President Clinton, has debated science policy with Jeremy Rifkin, Francis Fukuyama, Leon Kass and others, and has been profiled by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Lancet and MIT Tech Review. Maxwell Stock
President and Chief Operating Officer

Oversees day-to-day operations to insure close coordination between our business and research efforts. He majored in molecular biology at the University of Colorado, conducted research efforts at Synergen, and was involved with several startups before joining Professor Stock’s Princeton laboratory to help develop the technologies upon which Signum is built. A co-inventor on 6 Signum patents and a co-founder of the company, his laboratory experience and familiarity with our science have been critical in establishing the company’s R & D and product development efforts.

Michael Voronkov, PhD
Vice President of Drug Discovery

Leads our small molecule effort. Dr. Voronkov received his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Emory University and his BA in Chemical Engineering from St. Petersburg Institute of Chemical Technology (Russia). Before coming to Signum, he spent 3 years as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Florida and more recently spent 7 years at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, serving as Senior Scientist for the final 3 years of his tenure.

Lee Humphreys
Vice President of Business Development

Leads our out-licensing effort. Mr. Humphreys draws upon 25 years of experience at pharmaceutical and skincare companies that include Johnson & Johnson, Schering Plough, Allergan, Alcon Laboratories and Obagi Medical Products. He has broad expertise in business development, licensing, joint ventures, and distributor and alliance management in the pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical spaces. He also has extensive international marketing and business development experience and is fluent in Japanese and Spanish.

Eduardo Perez, PhD
Vice President of Operations

Leads our R&D efforts on Arazine and other GPM compounds and is involved in various other aspects of the company including human resources, business development and medical writing. Dr. Perez joined Signum as a postdoctoral fellow with support from an NJCST grant. Prior to joining Signum, Eduardo received his PhD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he investigated the role of reversible carboxyl methylation of chemoreceptors in signal transduction pathways. He received his BA in Biology from Rutgers University.

Seung-Yub Lee, PhD
Director of Chemistry

Leads our R&D efforts in chemistry. Dr. Lee received his PhD in Organic Chemistry from State University of New York at Stony Brook and his MS and BS in Organic Chemistry from Kyungpook National University (Korea). Before coming to Signum, he spent 3 years as a postdoctoral fellow at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and more recently spent 3 years at Institute of Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery at Stony Brook University, serving as the Director of Discovery Chemistry Laboratory.
