Signum Biosciences announced that its partner, Rohto Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., has launched AFC Medirepair® with Signum's compound Arazine™ (n-acetyl-s-farnsylcysteine or AFC) in Japan. Arazine™ is the first compound from Signum's novel anti-inflammatory platform to be commercialized from Signum's pipeline of Signal Transduction Modulators (STMs). At the 2010 Society of Investigative Dermatology (SID) meeting in Atlanta, Signum presented the latest results from its IPC technology platform, delivering a talk titled: “IPC analogs: A novel topical acne therapeutic possessing antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity against P. acnes”. In addition it also presented two posters: poster #118 titled “Isoprenylcysteine (IPC) analogs suppress 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13- acetate (TPA)-induced cytokine production in primary human keratinocytes and mouse skin in vivo” and poster #761 titled “Isoprenylcysteine (IPC) analogs: A novel topical acne therapeutic possessing antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity against Propionibacterium acnes”.
