About SIG-1191™

Overview

SIG-1191 is our 3rd generation isoprenylcysteine (IPC) cosmetic functional ingredient (CFI). Similar to 1st and 2nd generation CFIs Arazine and SIG-1273, SIG-1191 has anti-inflammatory properties. However, through additional screening and R&D, SIG-1191 also possesses unique skin hydration potential by modulating the expression and production of water channels in basal keratinocytes. Moreover, SIG-1191 has anti-aging properties. At the cellular level, SIG-1191 has to the ability to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and prevent the oxidative damage associated with chronic inflammation and stress. SIG-1191 has been clinically proven to be safe and is currently being assessed for skin benefitting activity in vivo.

    • Increases dose dependently the expression of Aquaporin-3 (AQP-3). AQP-3 is part of the aquaporin family of transmembrane proteins forming water channels in the basal layer of the epidermis and is responsible for water transport and hydration in the human skin epidermis

    • Protects against fibroblast cellular senescence
    • Possesses antioxidant properties
    • Protects against oxidative stress
  3. Anti-inflammatory properties
    • Protects against chemical induced pro-inflammatory cytokine release
    • Protects against UV induced pro-inflammatory cytokine release
  4. Blocks neutrophil infiltration
